Rafeef Filly Impresses At Kenilworth

Ridgemont Highlands’ prominent resident sire Rafeef continues to churn out smart looking winners each week, and the son of Redoute’s Choice had another good looking winner at Kenilworth on Tuesday afternoon.

His Glen Kotzen trained two-year-old daughter Spywing picked up her second career when accounting for some very promising fillies in Tuesday’s #ThisIsRacing Juvenile Plate (1400m) on the Kenilworth Winter Course.

Under Corne Orffer, Spywing kept finding more and more in the closing stages and stayed on gamely to post a near half length win.

Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Spywing has now won twice, from just six starts, with the filly having also caught the eye when runner up in the G3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery,

Spywing, who is out of the Count Dubois mare Secret Society, was a R50 000 buy from the 2021 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

She is one of a growing number of promising two-year-olds for Rafeef this season, with others including G2 Heineken SA Nursery runner up Union Square and the unbeaten Who Do You Love.
