Ridgemont’s triple Gr1 winning sire Jackson looks to have a serious classic contender for the Cape Summer Season in the shape of the Kieswetter family’s home-bred Pretty Young Thing who sauntered in to register her third win from six starts at Durbanville on Saturday.

A winner of all of the G1 Investec Cape Derby, G1 Daily News 2000 and G1 Champions Cup, and from the same family as multiple champion sire Smart Strike and ill-fated South African champion Soft Falling Rain, Jackson has made a pleasing start to his stud career and his magnificent daughter looks to be a serious racehorse.

“She’s been very progressive and done nothing wrong. Greg (Cheyne) put her in a great position, and we’ll now go for the Western Cape Fillies Championship in a fortnight” said Brett Crawford, referring to the Gr2 contest at Kenilworth on 26 October.

Pretty Young Thing is in the weights which have been published for the R350 000 Gr2 Western Cape Fillies Championship.
