Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs looks to have come up with yet another well above average performer in the form of Duchess Of Dorset.

The latter made it four wins, from just six starts, when when victorious at Ballarat on Saturday.

Trained by Symon Wilde, Duchess Of Dorset landed her latest win when romping home, under Linda Meech, to a clear-cut two and a half length win over 1200m on Saturday.

Duchess Of Dorset, who is out of the Commands mare Commands Gold, had finished third at Flemington last time out, with the lightly raced mare having previously reeled off back to back victories.

Her Irish classic winning sire Canford Cliffs, whose first South African crop race later this season, is no stranger to siring high-class fillies and mares.

Canford Cliffs is already responsible for a number of talented daughters headed by such group/graded stakes winners as Al Jazi, Fish River, Jin Jin, La Falaise, and Most Beautiful, as well as G1 Investec Oaks third placegetter Harlequeen.

One of the greatest milers of the century, Canford Cliffs is currently responsible for 44 black type horses, with his progeny having already earned over $29 million in prize money.
