Canford Cliffs Success At Greyville

Ridgemont Highlands’ five time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs has made a sparkling start with his first South African bred and born two-year-olds this season, and the son of Tagula struck again at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.

Canford Cliffs’ two-year-old daughter My Cherie Amour became the eighth winner to have emerged from her sire’s first locally bred crop of runners when coming from last to win impressively at Greyville.

Making the third start of her career, and her first in KwaZulu-Natal, the Glen Kotzen trained My Cherie Amour was settled at the back of the field in Wednesday’s Catch KZN Racing Via Live Streaming On www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Plate (F&M) (1400m).

Under an ice-cool ride from Mfanelo Zuma, the two-year-old produced a blistering turn of foot which saw My Cherie Amour mow down her older rivals to win going away by half a length.

Wednesday’s race was a great result for Canford Cliffs, with the Ridgemont Highlands sire also responsible for third placegetter Feeling Groovy.

Bred by Golden Touch Thoroughbred Services in partnership with Mr Kidd, My Cherie Amour is out of the In The Wings mare Paris At Night.

Currently South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2021-2022, Canford Cliffs is set to be represented by his multiple stakes winning son Cliff Top in Saturday’s G1 Gold Medallion.
