Dynasty’s Blossom has Brilliant Stud Potential
Dynasty’s Blossom, who won the Grade 2 Gold Cup almost exactly a year ago for Joey Ramsden, bounced back to her best form with a win in Saturday’s Grade 3 Gold Vase over 3000m at Greyville.
Cape Thoroughbred Sales
Now trained by Brett Crawford, Dynasty’s Blossom, the beautifully bred Cape Thoroughbred Sales graduate, quoted at 35/4, showed her class in this line-up of stayers with a well-timed win off a sedate early pace, in the hands of Warren Kennedy.
Before Noon finished second and Dark Moon Rising got going late in the race for third, completing yet another big-race Trifecta for CTS.
Brett Crawford’s assistant Peter Muscutt praised Warren Kennedy for his patient ride and said: “He put her to sleep for the first mile and then made his move at the right time. She’s a game filly, all heart. She missed her prep run when the Oaks was postponed, but we gave her a good gallop at Summerveld and she came through that exceptionally well, found her best form today.”

Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Dynasty’s Blossom was sold for R4,5 million at the 2016 Cape Premier Yearling Sale – where she topped the charts on Day 2. She races for a partnership including Coolmore, Jagessar Limited and Maine Chance Farms.
Dynasty’s Blossom is out of the Danehill Dancer sired Grade 3 Final Fling Stakes winner Crimson Blossom, who won seven races from 1200m to 2000m. She is a wonderful broodmare prospect, having now won 4 races with 12 places from 27 starts taking her stakes earnings to R1 275 175.
Dynasty’s Blossom traces back directly in female line to the great mare Frizette – whose other high-class descendants include the breed shaping stallions Mr Prospector, Seattle Slew and Tourbillon.
