Canford Cliffs (Tagula – Mrs Marsh, by Marju)

Ridgemont Highlands’ five-time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs is no stranger to enjoying success in Australia, having supplied the Australian group winners Cliff’s Edge, La Falaise and Money Matters, and the son of Tagula looks to have come up with yet another potentially smart Australian runner in the form of Colsridge.

The latter got off the mark at just the second time of asking when breaking his maiden at Mildura on Friday afternoon.

A lightly raced four-year-old, Colsridge, who had finished third in his only other race, powered home to shed his maiden by three and a half lengths, while scoring over 1200m for trainer Arthur Pace and jockey Dean Holland.

The gelding is out of the Hillman mare Two Hills.

The son of Tagula came the up with yet another Australian winner when his promising daughter Lobster Noodles scored a convincing win at Sale on Sunday.

Under Ethan Brown, the four-year-old powered home to score a one length win, over 1732m, for the training partnership of Leon & Troy Carstens.

Lobster Noodles, who is out of the Tiger Hill mare Aqua Modern, has now won four times, with the filly having captured two of her last three previous starts.

Her five-time G1 winning sire Canford Cliffs has made his presence felt around the globe, with Canford Cliffs’ progeny having won group/graded races in all of Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and South Africa.

To date, Canford Cliffs progeny have earned over $29 000 000 in prize money and include 42 black type performers including millionaire Cliff’s Edge, champion, and Italian classic winner, Cima Emergency, and the top-class mare Jin Jin, to name but a few.
